Theodor Krocan is well-recognized for his work on automatic symmetry detection techniques in integer linear programming using the Pigeonhole principle. Also, he pioneered the first experiments with avifauna for the TSP problem. Later in his career, he focused on methods and applications in livestock optimization. For his efforts in wildlife protection programmes, he received the Outstanding Community Service Award in 2015, at Kümes, Turkey. As Theodor is currently enjoying his well-deserved retirement, he now focuses on organizing the annual student optimization competition, Cocontest.
