Petr Stejskal studied Open Informatics with a specialization in Software Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague, where he earned his MSc degree in 2023. His master’s thesis, Simulator of a Hybrid Source of Electric Energy, was awarded the Siemens Werner von Siemens Prize in the category Smart Infrastructure and Energy. He continues this work in his PhD studies focused on the control of hybrid power plants. During his first year, he contributed to the development and implementation of a control system for the Energy Nest hybrid power plant, combining aeroderivative gas turbines with a high-capacity battery energy storage system. The control algorithm he developed has been successfully operating in daily operation since July 2024. His current research focuses on optimization methods in energy systems, particularly in ancillary services provision. Since 2025, his work has also expanded to include hydrogen-related technologies.
