About

Jakub Med is a PhD student in Informatics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, and a researcher at the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC). His research falls within the field of Automated Planning, centring on action reversibility, planning under uncertainty, and plan optimisation. Jakub is the first author of four papers at A*-ranked venues, on redundant actions in plans (ICAPS 2022), non-deterministic action reversibility (ICAPS 2024, KR 2025), and reversibility in hierarchical planning (ICAPS 2026). Beyond publications, he supervised the development of PANSim, a tool for visualizing planning against nature, which received the Best System’s Demonstration Award at ICAPS 2026, and his bachelor’s thesis earned a Dean’s Award. Jakub is also the principal investigator of a Student Grant Competition project on action reversibility, has conducted research visits at the University of Klagenfurt, Austria, and The Australian National University, and serves on the programme committees of the ICAPS, NeurIPS, and AAAI conferences.
