Nikolai Antonov

Nikolai Antonov received his master’s degree in 2020 from the Open Informatics program at the Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague. As part of a double-degree program, he simultaneously graduated from Kazan Federal University, where he developed a strong background in applied number theory and mathematical cryptography.

Nikolai’s research focuses on data-driven algorithms and the integration of machine learning into combinatorial optimization. Between 2022 and 2025, he attended the prestigious ESSAI & ACAI summer schools on artificial intelligence and presented his research at dedicated AI conferences in France and Portugal. His work on incorporating machine learning into scheduling algorithms has been published in the Q1-ranked journal Computers & Operations Research.

With a strong foundation in number theory and cryptography, Nikolai is also interested in problems such as primality testing and integer factorization, which are fundamental in modern security systems. In this area, his results were accepted three times to the International Scientific Conference for Undergraduate and Graduate Students and Young Scientists at Moscow State University, and in collaboration with colleagues he published three journal papers in the Lobachevskii Journal of Mathematics.
